SPEAKING

Encouraging and equipping women to rest well, work with intention, and find purpose and joy in both the busy and the mundane.

Whether she’s speaking to a conference of entrepreneurs or a room full of mothers, Nancy’s message is the same: your daily choices matter. With practical wisdom, honest stories, and the kind of encouragement we all need, she meets women right where they are — in the busy, the beautiful, and everything in between.

A Contentment Challenge: Pursuing Christ in a World That Always Wants More

We live in a culture that tells us “more” is the answer — more stuff, more success, more control. But Christ keeps inviting us to something different: a life of peace and gratitude right where we are. In this talk, I share what I’ve learned through years of practicing contentment and how to slow down, reset your heart, and find joy in what’s already in your hands.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • We see this play out in our daily lives - we want more stuff, so we add to our Amazon shopping carts. We want more connection, so we turn to social media. We want to feel satisfied, so we turn to food. But the truth is - God created us with a deep longing for Him, and none of those things will every truly satisfy us.

  • We need to put on wisdom glasses to see this world through the lens of wisdom and not be swept away by the messaging all around us.  Today, according to the New York Times, each person is exposed to 3500 desire inducing advertisements every day. That is a lot to take in! It is imperative we know what we are up against to stand strong in contentment and joy.

  • “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” But “great gain” in Scripture isn’t referring to an increase in material gain - Paul is talking about an increase in spiritual wealth and resources! True gain is spiritual rather than material, and the sooner we understand that our contentment is only found in Christ and a deep, abiding relationship with Him, the more joyful and content we will be!

Family Rhythms to Deepen Your Faith

Faith isn’t something we add to our calendar; it’s something we live out in the middle of real life. In this talk, I share simple, doable rhythms that have helped our family stay grounded in truth and connected to each other — even in the busiest seasons. It’s about small, intentional choices that draw your family closer to the Lord and to one another, one day at a time.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Whether it’s just before school, just before bed, just before meals, or every Sunday afternoon - you can establish simple prayer rituals that will continually point your children’s hearts back to God on a daily basis.

  • Family devotions aren’t as difficult as you might think! Keeping it simple and fun is best for children and often, for us parents too. There are simple ways to experience Scripture as a family so it’s not overwhelming but fruitful and fun!

  • What are ways you can get creative and teach your kids about faith and what it looks like to have a relationship with Jesus? Kids learn through play and activity - so creating fun ways to learn about our faith is so important!

How to Love the Sabbath with Small Children

Let’s be honest: rest looks different when your home is full of little ones. But Sabbath is still possible, and it’s still good. In this talk, I share how our family learned to love the Sabbath in this noisy, full season of life — not perfectly, but faithfully. You’ll walk away encouraged to find your own simple ways to slow down, celebrate, and enjoy the gift of rest right where you are.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Sabbath is obedience! From the very beginning of time, God intended rest for his people as He modeled it in the 7 days of creation. Then he commanded us to honor the Sabbath in the 10 Commandments. Yet, the practice of Sabbath has been largely forgotten or replaced with a busy day at church.

Practicing Sabbath is a countercultural decision as a family, but it is incredibly rewarding. Most families don't believe it's possible, but we are here to say, it is! Setting aside one day a week for true rest is an act of obedience that will be blessed and will change your life.

  • Sabbath has deepened my relationship with God, my husband, and my children. I used to think it was impossible to actually enjoy a Sabbath as a mom because I never get any time off, but the truth is - I didn't plan for it well enough and I kept making excuses. Once I embraced the possibility of practicing a Sabbath with small children, my relationships with my family and with the Lord grew so much deeper. Instead of operating on a busy schedule, we embraced a very slow Saturday every week and it's made all the difference!

  • I love talking about what Sabbath can actually look like as a family with young kids! It's not easy, but it's easier than you might think. For us, we say no to doing dishes, no to doing laundry, no to doing any homework or chores, no to organized sports and no to most planned events (with exceptions, of course!). We use paper plates all day and we plan time outside and we watch movies and enjoy games. Yes we still change diapers and take care of our kids, but the parent “work” we do is so minimized in light of the joy and delight we experience!
